Finance Award

Diploma Outline

Our Finance Award is one of our range of mini-Diplomas, and covers Manual Book-Keeping, Sage 50 Computerised Accounts and Excel training, giving you a wide ranging introductory knowledge to accounts and accounting procedures. Once you have developed a good eye for detail, you can then look at developing your accounting proficiency by progressing to the Pitman Training Book-keeping Diploma or our Advanced Accounts Diploma. You will then be on the road to becoming an accounts professional and have excellent transferable to help you run your own business or enable you to gain promotion with your current organisation, or even consider another employer.

Is the Diploma for me?
Whether you're looking to gain some book-keeping abilities for work or for your own use, this is a fast-track introduction to learning accounts and book-keeping for people with an aptitude for figures. On completion of the Finance Award, you could progress and upgrade your Finance Award to one of our higher level Finance Diplomas, or, if you want to gain more fully-rounded skills in office work, you could consider our Office Skills Diploma.
Diploma Outline
Using real-life scenarios that you will come across in the world of work, you will study three carefully selected modules designed to raise your standards quickly to a high level.

Study Options and Course Duration
You’ll have great flexibility and choice regarding when you study at any one of our training centres in Ireland. Those starting out on the road to learning about accounting are best advised to visit a local Pitman Training Centre and meet a course advisor, who will explain how things work for attending class and the support and guidance you get, as and when you need it.
Once you’ve decided to go ahead, our course advisor will get you started in a matter of days, and arrange for your induction and show you how our flexible training system works. After this, you can arrange study sessions that fit with your commitments, knowing you have support at hand whenever you need it. The guideline learning time for the Finance Award is around 76 hours flexi study or 3 weeks full-time, based on approximately 25 hours per week. Most of our students study part-time for around 10 hours a week, meaning you could also complete this Award in a couple of months.
